Want To Be A Candidate?

Call to Action!

What could be more important in your life than fighting for your Freedom? We are talking not about simply commiserating with like minded folk about how things ought to be and how the big government types are taking away our freedoms. We are doing something about it -- and we need you to volunteer to help us get American back to being the land of the Free, not of the land of the government that makes your mind up for you on issues like retirement, medicine, charity, and so on.

Here is a list of ways to get involved with the libertarian movement for real freedom in our time with the Libertarian Party of Pittsburgh (steps 1, 2 and 3 require no obligations):

  1. Subscribe to PghLibertarians@eGroups.com, our mailing list for folks interested in helping the LPPGH move towards freedom. No one wants to jump in to something without getting a bit of comfort with what its all about. Tap into the pulse, and get familiar. Quite literally, this is step one if you've not been previously active with a LP chapter.
  2. Say hello at one of our monthly chapter meetings . There is no obligation or pressure to join us.
  3. Learn more about libertarian ideas by regularly visiting this site and our referenced links.
  4. Join the Libertarian Party of Pittsburgh. No commitments are required other than a membership fee. Naturally, your participation is needed very much.
  5. Attend local political events in your township or community, learn the current issues, and find others of like mind. Start pressing the status quo about their freedom eroding feel-good policies.
  6. Form a libertarian precinct in your local community for both educational and political purposes. (Help us organize!)
  7. Eventually run for an office, such as a precinct judge of elections.

The Libertarian Party of Pittsburgh is run entirely by volunteers who believe in working for real freedom and liberty for all Americans who want it. To accomplish this, we need additional volunteers at all times to help us spread our message, either in outreach programs or through running candidates.

Simply complaining about things to friends, family and others who will listen, won't change them. Please remember, if you know what is happening to this country, our constitution, and our freedom -- and you do nothing about it -- you are guilty of benign neglect. Its your job to make sure those who were never offered a chance to understand what freedom is all about have a chance to learn and be liberated.

Please contact us if you would like to learn more. Or you can attend one of our monthly meetings. All are welcome!

Of course, if you can not offer time, we always accept contributions to help us finance this goal.
