The 3rd Largest political party in the US and The ONLY Political Party of Principle

If you are like many new visitors to our site, you are here because you feel politically orphaned. Maybe...

  • you have core beliefs that are not supported by either the republicans or democrats
  • you like some things from the democrats and some things from the republicans, but you dislike both just the same
  • You are tired of politicians caving in on issue after issue that you thought were supposed to be their core beliefs
  • You want to cut through the empty promises and self-contradicting policies of all the other political parties.

Maybe you've heard a few things that made you identify with libertarian ideology and the Libertarian Party. And if you are like most people who are just discovering libertarianism, you still have pending questions that need answers before you care to identify yourself as being a libertarian -- after all, ALL the other parties have probably abused the trust you place with them.

You are therefore naturally prone to not commit -- and many libertarians once considered themselves independents (and former democrats or republicans) while they learned more about our ideas and we earned their trust and confidence in that we put principles ahead of win at all cost politics.

An Ideology, not just more Politics

First, it must be understood... The Libertarian Party is not just a 'political party'. Members of the Libertarian Party have organized around what is the libertarian philosophy on life, liberty and freedom. The Libertarian Party is the political expression of a convincing, in depth study of economics, history, politics and human nature - which forms libertarianism. Neither the Republicans nor Democrats have such standards to their party, other than to say or do only as much as it takes to get elected and stay in power.

Visit our five minute animated presentation which will introduce you to the essential tenets of libertarian ideology. Our positions on most every issue, related to economics, politics, society, etc., draw from these very simple yet very profound pillars of core beliefs -- the very forgotten beliefs enumerated by many of our Founding Fathers -- the same ones fought for in 1776.

Other political parties waver from issue to issue, doing what is politically expedient to stay in power. Other politicians will play politics and use the power of government and voters to help their constituencies and biggest donors at the expense of anyone and everyone, if that's what it takes to get re-elected. Certainly, on some issues they tend to lean a certain direction, but they'd just as soon give in on those issues and compromise, placing their own power over principle almost every time.

Libertarians Will NOT.

We believe in freedom and liberty.

We believe the more citizens are educated, the more independent they will become; the more they will resist attempts to have them concede more of their own and their fellow citizens' rights and powers to politicians, or to the whims and injustices of mob democracy.

This is why we are known as the only...

Party of Principle!
